Who says you have to take senior pictures outdoors?!  As a Northern Kentucky senior photographer, I have a plethora of locations to be able to choose from to be the backdrop of senior sessions.  New fav location...the Cincinnati Art Museum and Noel was the perfect candidate for it!  Architectural lines, staircases, metal, concrete, natural light and dimples for days filled Noel's session and it was perfection.

Noel's session was full of fun and some new locations that have now become some of my favorites!!  Noel attends Beechwood High School and she is one busy girl.  After skipping a grade and attending the rigorous Covington Latin School, Noel continues her long resume of extracurriculars at BHS.  She is a part of the National Honors Society, she has been Vice President of the History Club and also plays soccer, archery and loves to ski.  In Noel's free time, you will find her playing piano or creating an artistic masterpiece.  I'm so excited to see what the future holds for this bright and beautiful young lady who's ready to take her first steps out in the real world!  Scroll down to view part of her senior session.  :)

Oh. My. Goodness. is all I have to say to this photo session.  As a Cincinnati Senior Photographer, I have worked with seniors from across the area and have enjoyed every second of it.  Seniors have a light around them that exudes so much happiness and excitement for the future!  Olivia was no exception!  Let me tell you...this girl right here knows how to ROCK THE CAMERA!!  With little instruction or guidance from me, Olivia took control of her senior session and filled it with stunning smiles, amazing blue eyes, rockin' poses and a confidence that blew me away.

Olivia is a senior at Notre Dame High School.  Her resume is extensive in length and beyond impressive.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National French Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (National Math Honor Society), Governor’s Scholars Program, Junior Engineering Technical Society (JETS), Drug Free Club, French Club, Knitting Club, peer mentoring, and on top of those she takes numerous AP courses.  During her free time you will find her making art, dabbling in creative writing and photography, working at a daycare, service/volunteer work, soccer refereeing, reading, shopping, hanging out with friends, and traveling.  I'm so excited to see what the future holds for this bright young lady!  Scroll through to see a snippet of her senior session.

The city of Cincinnati offers some outstanding backdrops and as a Northern Kentucky Senior Photographer, I am so excited to be able to take advantage of the beauty and history of this city.  Meet Emma...her session was full of head turning outfits, a historical location, some beautiful violin playing and ended with a spontaneous run through the fountains.  Pairing Emma with Washington Park was nothing but perfection!

Emma is not only stunning and beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well.  This Notre Dame Senior is also one busy lady!  She participates in many school clubs and has played the violin for 10 years now.  When she isn't rehearsing, taking private lessons, or meeting with the orchestra or quartet, she is busy with Life Club, Spanish Club, National English Honor Society or tutoring inner-city children.  

She is an amazing role model for other high school students and she will be pursuing music in college.  Emma, I wish you nothing but the best during this last year of high school.  Make tons of memories and I can't wait to see what comes next for you!

It's that time of year again!!  CHRISTMAS MINIS!!  Two incredible sets during your session are sure to make your little ones smile and have visions of sugar plums dance in their heads that night.  You don’t want to miss out on this one.  We’ve pulled out all the stops for this year's Christmas Minis!

 “Sleigh Bells Ring” is an outdoor setting right in front of the studio’s vibrant red, inviting double doors adorned with garland, ornaments and lights.  Along side the outdoor Christmas trees is a one of kind antique sleigh complete with fur blankets and presents…that surely made the trip straight from the North Pole!

“Pine & Berries” is an indoor set on the second floor of the studio.  A wood planked wall, small pines, globe string lights and to top it off a pine and berries crown for the little ladies and a bucket of pine for the boys. 

These props are certainly optional for our older crowd!  There are numerous chairs and couches in the studio to appease the teens and tweens so don’t you worry a bit about that!

SUNFLOWERS is all I have to say!!  As a Northern KY Senior Photographer, I am blown away by the locations we have to choose from in this area!  When Grace and I started planning her personalized senior session, her choice was a sunflower field from the start...and boy did she choose wisely!  The sunflowers were completely breathtaking.  So in this session you will find sunflowers galore, beautiful sunlight, a beautiful, enthusiastic senior and loads of fun!

Grace was super fun to work with!  Beautiful hair to swing around, stunning eyes and even some sunflower picking occurred during her session.  She is a senior at Newport Central Catholic High School where she is a cheerleader.  She loves to shop and she loves to do makeup.  How fun is that?!

In one word...VINTAGE!!  As a Cincinnati Senior Photographer, I am so excited to be working with the Class of 2018.  There are so many different beautiful areas in Cincinnati to use as the backdrop for senior pictures and Kellyn's view for her session was perfect!  As we were planning her session she explained how she wanted a vintage setting.  So off to my Newport Studio Carriage House we went!!  Reclaimed wood walls, brick walls, original flooring, fireplaces, antique couches, a beautiful vintage vanity and a stunning brunette is what this session was full of!  

Kellyn is a senior at Highlands High School and she has been one busy lady!  She is a part of the cross country team, Highlands High School student council, the Freshman mentoring program and many other various activities.  She has an extremely demanding academic schedule full of AP classes and I have no doubt her future is bright.

Outside of school Kellyn loves to hang out with her mom, her sister and her brother and she also has a passion for running.  You will always see her running outside after school.  

I have had a blast working with Kellyn this year and I'm so excited to see what the future will bring for her.  Enjoy your last few weeks of your senior year!  Cherish every moment!

As a Northern Kentucky Senior Photographer, I’m loving being able to work with the Class of 2018!  Cassie’s session was full of fun and she can obviously make anyone smile.  Her photoshoot began at this Holtman’s Doughnuts lover's favorite place and their OTR store was the feature location!  Along with doughnuts, OTR storefronts and murals; The Banks’ colorful fountains all made an appearance in this super fun senior session.

Cassie is one busy senior!  Not only does she have a love for all things science, she has a long list of activities she is involved in at Covington Latin.  She plays golf and softball as well as being a Pontifical Server, a part of the Spanish Club, the Photography Club (a girl after my own heart) and the History Club.  Outside of school she loves to shop, watch sports and walk her two dogs.  And if that wasn’t enough, she has already attended 2 medical programs at the University of Kentucky and will be Wildcat in the Fall.

Cassie is so fun and will succeed in whatever she chooses to do in the future.

As a Cincinnati Senior Photographer, I was able to take this stunning red head to a beautiful park in Cincinnati to have a morning full of laughs, smiles and some killer camera stare-downs.  Kelsey is an amazingly bright and bubbly young lady with a huge future ahead of her.  Check out this downtown Cincinnati session featuring the Roebling Bridge, beautiful flowers, stop lights, murals and just the sheer beauty of this city and this girl.

Not only is Kelsey attending the advanced Covington Latin School, but she finds time to be involved as well.  When not doing homework, she plays volleyball and softball.  Along with two varsity sports, she is a member of the CLS Debate Team, National Honors Society, Junior Classical League, Newspaper Club and even plays the Saxophone!!

Outside of school she likes to read, write, run, shop (of course), do some logic puzzles and walk her dog.  I wish Kelsey the best of luck in her last year of High School.  There is no doubt that her future is as bright as her beautiful red locks!!

These are for children only for $90 but add in the family for a total session fee of $125.  Included is a 15 minute session and up to 10 images in an online, private gallery along with a print release.

PURE beauty right here!  From the perfect location and perfect lighting to the perfect subject in the perfect attire.  This was the recipe for a beautiful senior session with this pretty lady.  As a Cincinnati Senior Photographer, I'm blessed to work with youth around the area and I would like for you to meet Sidney.  Her session will be split in two with one part in the Fall and the other in the Spring.  Check out a few of her senior portraits and read what she is all about!

Christmas Minis are Now Booking!!

It's that time of year again.  I know we've had heat indexes in the triple digits but it's time to book those Christmas mini sessions!  Hot Chocolate, mittens and heavy coats are all just around the corner and these session would be perfect for those much anticipated Christmas cards.

I am teaming up with Fort Thomas Coffee to present to you "Christmas in the Cafe."  These sessions will be complete with mugs and gingerbread cookies along with reclaimed wood walls with vintage lights and even the opportunity for outdoor store front shots with one of the cutest towns around as the backdrop.  That's 3 sets in one!!  Clothing options could be anything from winter coats, hats and mittens to Christmas pajamas or anything in between.

As a Northern KY Senior Photographer, I love photographing guys and girls from the current senior class.  One of my favorite parts of these senior sessions is shooting specialized sports pictures but this one was extra special. This talented young man plays not one but two sports for his school.  Meet Austin!  His session was filled with basketballs, footballs, sports uniforms, lots of smiles and even a school bus...and some pretty awesome hair if you ask me.  Scroll through and check out some of his senior pictures.  

 A HUGE part of Austin's life is filled with basketball & football.  He is currently the football team captain and after the last touchdown of the season and football jerseys are put away, Austin will put on a new jersey.  He heads straight into basketball season where he helped bring his team to the semifinals of the State Tournament last year.

My session with Mya has quickly become one of my favorites.  With 2 incredible locations, multiple outfit changes and one young lady who ROCKED her session...as you scroll down you will see what I'm talking about.  Check out this urban session featuring this beautiful member of the Class of 2017 and one of my Senior Model Reps.

Mya was so much fun to work with and as a Northern Kentucky photographer as well as a Cincinnati photographer, I absolutely LOVE taking advantage of the beautiful areas that are around us that make Cincinnati the beautiful place it is.  Mya was equipped and ready to go with multiple outfits and boy did she accessorize!  From wedges and pumps to her adorable purse that we incorporated into her urban session, everything went together so perfectly.  

Mya is not only a stunning young lady, she is very involved in her school as well.  She is a member of the cheerleading squad, volleyball team and even the Ski Club.  How fun is that?!  I wish Mya the best of luck in her final year of High School.  Enjoy every minute!

Here's to the Class of 2017!!

I'm so excited for these guys who are officially SENIORS!!  Half of my senior models started back to school today for their final chapter of their High School career and the other half will start back next week.

A note to the entire Class of 2017: Enjoy every moment!  Soak up every memory, enjoy every event, every game, every meet, every competition.  Delight in every club meeting, every lunch hour, every dance and even in every test and every time the bell rings.  Savor all the memories you've already made and make new ones over the next year.  Relish in the fact that you are Seniors!  Take a moment every now and then and just sit back, watch and soak in every second.  These memories will last a lifetime.

To say that I LOVE being a Cincinnati Senior Photographer would be an understatement.  I have the most awesome Senior Model Rep Team for the Class of 2017 and these two are two of the members.  This brother/sister senior duo had a session that began with hair and makeup (for Alayna of course) by the wonderful Bridget Meyer.  With their coordinating dress and suit, they accessorized perfectly with a beautiful necklace, awesome wedge shoes and perfect funky socks.  Read further to meet Alayna & Carter.

Carter is such a great guy and super stylish.  I was so impressed with his suit, yellow shirt, awesome tie and the perfect accessories were his watch and palm tree socks.  Talk about style!  Carter is now a Senior and is on the Archery team.  Outside of school he loves to play basketball and football with his buddies and he even coaches intramural basketball.

Alayna is also such a fun loving girl.  She enjoyed every second of getting her hair and makeup done for the session and she did such a great job taking pictures with her beautiful smile and stunning serious looks.  Alayna is super involved at school.  She is a cheerleader and finds time between the heavy work load to be a part of the Pro-Life Club, Spanish Club, Yearbook Committee, Drama department as well as the National Honors Society.

Today I introduce to you an adorable brother and sister that I had the pleasure of working with.  During this session we had sparkling blue eyes, a sweet big brother loving on his baby sister, lots of cheerios to keep everyone happy and a HUGE amount of fun all wrapped up into this beautiful morning at Smale Park.  Check out this session that portrays some brotherly love, beautiful children and the perfect day for a morning session in front of the Roebling Bridge.

A couple weeks ago, I was honored to take Ashley's Senior Portraits.  She is a Senior at East Jessamine High School in Nicholasville and as soon as you take a look at her pictures you will see that she is such a beautiful and graceful dancer and a wonderful young lady!  Scroll through some of Ashley's portraits and you will see just what I am talking about!  Good luck these last few weeks of High School, Ashley and next year as a Theatre Major at Northern KY University!!

Who's ready for some Sunset Spring Mini Sessions?  

I'm so excited Spring is here and I'm ready to welcome it in with some super fun Spring Mini-shoots!  Live baby bunnies will be joining us so grab your calendar and let's get you booked for your next session.  Space is limited so don't delay!!

These will take place at Sunset on Saturday, April 9th around the beautiful flowering trees and budding tulips of Eden Park!  What is more beautiful than that?!

These are for children only at the $75 price but add in the family for a total session fee of $100.  Included is a 20 minute session and up to 10 images in an online, private gallery along with a print release.

Alright guys, it's time to start thinking Christmas Mini Sessions!!  The location is set, the dates are scheduled so here is all the information you need!

Sessions will be Saturday, November 7th from 9-11:30 and Sunday, November 8th from 2-5:30.  They will be 25 minutes long, you will receive 8-10 images in a password protected gallery with downloadable files...all for $75!!  Extra sessions may be added if these sell out.  

LOCATION:  Tower Park trails, Fort Thomas, KY!! Just around the corner from the Museum.  Park by the Museum, and head into the trail and around the corner you will find me.

THEME: "North Pole or Bust!"  Think vintage tent, flannel blankets, old time suit cases, lanterns and even a sack on a stick.  The beautiful scenery of Tower Park is also available if you choose to forego the Christmas scene.

#1:  Coordinate, not matching!

Remember the days when the style was all white or all black?  Well, those times have passed.  :)  The best idea is to choose a color scheme that includes 2 or 3 colors.  Then choose pieces that run along that color scheme.  Put your little one in a super cute dress with a bit of detail then add a dress on another child that pulls color from that dress.  Put mom in an pattern and dad in a button up that coordinates with the whole scheme.  Pull it all together and you are good to go!

#2:  Mix Solids and Patterns

If everyone wears solid color clothing, the picture may turn out a bit boring.  Adding some patterns will make the image more visually pleasing. BIG TIP:  don't add too many patterns!  If everyone is in patterned clothing, then the image will be too busy.  So the perfect balance is mixing the two.  Have a few in solids and a few in patterns...the patterns can be different but make sure they stay with the color scheme.  Having a couple plaids, a stripe and some solids will be perfect!  

#3:  Accessorize!!!

It's amazing what a difference accessories can make!!  Having little brother in a blue shirt and adding a bow in sister's hair of the same color really brings everything together.  Mom can even wear a pair of adorable earrings or a statement necklace that coordinates with a little one's dress.  Even shoes can make a picture...look how these adorable boots are like icing on the cake...

#4:  Add a splash of color to bring it all together

Do you feel like you need one more thing to bring it all together?  Add a splash of color with a headband to bring an accent color further into the picture.  Or add a necklace or scarf to bring out a color in one of the patterns you have.  Another way to bring in some more color without making the image look too busy is by layering.  Add a jacket or shirt to keep the color scheme going.  It really can add so much depth to your images!

Follow these simple steps and you will have some wonderfully coordinated clothing for the family.  All you have to do then is add some smiles and belly laughs and you will have some beautiful images.  

Do you REALLY want to go all out??  Here is one last helpful hint (optional of course):  Match the color scheme of your home decor.  What?!  Why you ask?!  If you match the color scheme of your home, it will ensure that the prints you hang will match as well.  Do you use a lot of blue in your decorating?  Make sure you use blue as one of your colors.  Are you a neutral kind of person?  Dress your family in creams, beiges, and a pop of one other color (maybe an accent color you use at home).  If you incorporate this tip, you not only will have beautifully coordinating clothes for the family, but it will bring everything together as you hang you prints at home.

What a wonderful time we had at the Frozen Mini Sessions!  Elsa and Anna are just as wonderful and beautiful in real life as they are in the movie.  :)  All of the girls fell in love with them on the spot.  You could totally see it in their expressions.  Check out a few sneak peeks...

So I was excited to see Clickitupanotch.com's DIY Ice Light post!  I decided to order it and try it out real fast tonight for the first time.  It was used in a pitch dark room.  Can't wait to see what else I can do with it!  Thoughts?
